Fortress of Sao Miguel
This was built in 1576, the builder of the foftress was Paulo Dias De Novais. Later in 1627 it was the administrative center of the colony and major outlet for the slave traffic to Brazil. This fortress was protected with its thick walls and cannons. Inside the fort, it itself tells the story of Angola from the early years, the courtyards are large, imposing statues of the Portugal's first king.
Iona National Park
This is a national park in the Namibe Provice of Angola which is about 200 kilometers from the city of Namibe and at the 5,850 squate miles (15200 Square kilometers). It is the largest park in the Angola, it is also called the Animal Paradist. It was proclaimed as a reserve later on it was upgraded to a national park in 1964 by the Portuguese Angola's authorities.
Kalandula Falls
Formerly it was kown as Duque De Braganca Falls. These are in the municipality of the Kalandula, Malanje Province,Angola. The Falls are 105 meters high on the Lucala River and 400 Feet wide (1312 foot). They are on of the larges water falls in the Africa.
Kunene River
This river is in the Southern Africa which flows from the Angola highlands to south to border with Namibia. It flows in the west along to the border until it reaches to the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region. It is about 1050 km long.
National Museum of Slavery Angola
It is located in the Morro Da Cruz, Luanda, Angola. It was founded in the 1997 by the National Institute of Cultural Patrimony, with the objective of depicting the history of Slavery in the Angola. The museum adjoins the Capela Da Casa Grande, a 17th century structure where slaves were baptized before being put on slave ships for the transport to America. The museum has hundreds of item which were utilized in the slavery trade. It is located in the former property of Alvaro De Carvalho Matoso, he was the captain of the Forte De Ambaca. He was the slave trader and his family as well. Matoso died in 1798, and his heirs continued the slave-trade until 1836, when a decree by the Maria II of Portugal prohibited the export of slavery.
Quicama National Park
This Park is in the western Angola and only functioning park in all of the Angola , with others being disrepair due to Angolan Civil War. This park is approximately 70 kilometers from the Luanda. The park is spread over 3 million acres (12,000 square Kilometers. Which is more than twice to the size of U.S. state of Rhode Islands.
